London bus routes C10 & P5 to go electric

The new tender awards have revealed that routes C10 and P5 are set to go zero emission electric by next year.

LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:


Route Current Operator New Operator PVR Vehicles
C10 Abellio London Abellio London 22 New electric single deck
P5 London Central Abellio London 9 New electric single deck

The above contracts will commence on the following dates:

· 21st March 2020: Route C10
· 2nd May 2020: Route P5

Upcoming routes to use electric buses:

Route 43 is expecting to have battery electric BYD Enviro400EV City buses anytime throughout May.

Route 100 is expected to have electric single deck BYD Enviro200EV MMC on 21st September 2019.

Route 134 is expected to have Optare Metrodecker electric double deckers throughout August 2019.

Route 214 is expected to have electric single deck BYD Enviro200EV MMC on 17th August 2019.

Route 323 is expecting to have electric single deckers on 11th January 2020.

Currently, Routes 46, 70, 153, 312, 360, C1, H98 and Red Arrow routes 501 & 521 use the single deck electric buses, Route 98 uses a small number of double deck electric buses and Route RV1 uses the single deck hydrogen buses.
