New logo for Arriva

A major transport company owned by the German government ‘Deutsche Bahn’ (DB) has unveiled their new logo for their subsidiary company Arriva.

A month ago, (20^th January 2017,) Arriva submitted their new logo to the UK Government’s Intellectual Property Office.

The logo image assembles three rings to make a letter ‘A’.

The logo looks similar to the Northern Rail logo

Arriva currently operates the Northern Rail franchise which is a primary train operator in Northern England.

The present Arriva logo has been around since the Cowie Group re-branded itself as ‘Arriva’ back in November 1997. In August 2010 Arriva was purchased by Deutsche Bahn.

Now that Arriva have unveiled a new logo, it will be interesting to see their new branding and livery for the bus fleet that they operate around Britain. In London though, the Arriva buses will remain red due to tight TfL regulations on liveries and vehicle specifications for their route contracts.

It won’t be very long until we see the new logo appearing on the side of the buses.
