Transport for London (TfL) has announced the new London Bus Tender Awards, where route 243 will be converted to brand new double-deck electric buses by next year.
LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:
Route 243 (24h)
Current Operator - Arriva London North
New Operator - Arriva London North
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) - 27
Vehicles - New electric double deck
Contract Start Date - 17th August 2024
Contract End Date - 15th August 2031
Route 394
Current Operator - Stagecoach East London
New Operator - Stagecoach East London
PVR - 10
Vehicles - Existing diesel single deck
Contract Start Date - 27th April 2024
Contract End Date - 26th April 2030
New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependant on infrastructure and/or vehicle delivery timescales.
The diesel vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
