London Bus Tender Awards: New Single-Deck Electric Buses For Route 33

The recent London Bus Tender Awards have revealed that 33/N33 will be using new single-deck electric buses.

LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:

Route 33/N33
Retained By: RATP Dev London United
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR): 18
Vehicles: New electric single deck
Contract Start Date: 9th November 2024
Contract End Date: 7th November 2031

Route 71
Retained By: RATP Dev London United
PVR: 13
Vehicles: Existing hybrid double deck
Contract Start Date: 6th July 2024
Contract End Date: 2nd July 2027

Route 371
Retained By: RATP Dev London United
PVR: 14
Vehicles: Existing electric single deck*
Contract Start Date: 6th July 2024
Contract End Date: 2nd July 2027

* Two vehicles are double deck. Certain journeys will continue to be operated by diesel vehicles.

New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.

The hybrid vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
