London Bus Tender Awards: New Electric Buses For Routes 196, 337 And Superloop Route SL6

As the Summer Olympics are due to start in Paris, France, with the opening ceremony. Transport for London (TfL) has announced that routes 196, 337 and Superloop Route SL6 have been awarded with new double-deck electric buses.

LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:

Route 196
Current Operator: Transport UK London (Formerly Abellio London)
New Operator: Arriva London South
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR): 16
Vehicles: New electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 3rd May 2025
Contract End Date: 30th April 2032

Route 337
Current Operator: Go-Ahead London General
New Operator: Transport UK London
PVR: 11
Vehicles: New electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 24th May 2025
Contract End Date: 21st May 2032

Route 631/H3
Retained by: Metroline
PVR: 2
Vehicles: Existing diesel single deck
Contract Start Date: 7th June 2025
Contract End Date: 9th June 2028

Route H2
Retained by: Metroline
PVR: 3
Vehicles: Existing diesel single deck
Contract Start Date: 7th June 2025
Contract End Date: 9th June 2028

Route SL6
Current Operator: Go-Ahead London Central
New Operator: Arriva London South
PVR: 10
Vehicles: New electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 29th March 2025
Contract End Date: 26th March 2032

New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.

The diesel vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
