As we are in the middle of May 2025, the recent London Bus tender awards have revealed that Transport UK London has won the route 493 contract, with new single-deck electric buses for Transport for London (TfL).
LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:
Route 367
Retained by: Transport UK London
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR): 10
Vehicles: Existing diesel single deck
Contract Start Date: 21st March 2026
Contract End Date: 23rd March 2029
Route 493
Current Operator: Go-Ahead London General
New Operator: Transport UK London
PVR: 17
Vehicles: New electric single deck
Contract Start Date: 28th March 2026
Contract End Date: 25th March 2033
New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.
The diesel vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
