BYD Enviro200EV for New Zealand and Nottinghamshire - and more Enviro500’s for Switzerland

Christchurch operator Red Bus will introduce New Zealand’s first fully electric urban bus service early next year with three Enviro200EV single deck battery buses ordered from Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL). The 12m long buses will be fully air-conditioned and will carry 60 passengers.

Nottingham has the largest fleet of bio-gas double deck buses!

Nottingham City Transport has announced the world’s largest bio-gas double deck bus fleet operational in Nottingham.

The world’s largest fleet of Bio-Gas double deck buses is now fully operational after Nottingham City Transport’s 53rd Bio-Gas bus entered service this week, completing a £16.8m investment in greener transport for the city.

Gas buses for Nottingham and three-door two-staircase buses for Switzerland

A brief news update on the bus scene - Nottingham City Transport (NCT) unveiled their gas buses on Friday 19th May 2017 at the Market Square, Nottingham.

Local people invited to be the first to see the greenest buses on the road at fun event on the Old Market Square on Friday 19 May

Five of the buses – one from each route the first 30 buses will be operating on – will be parked in the square from 10am until 6pm, and will be officially launched by Nottingham’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Mike Edwards at the start of the event.

This occasion marks an exciting time for Nottingham’s award-winning bus operator, as it sees a £17m investment in the greenest buses on the road finally begin their journeys in and around the city this summer.

Fare Rises for Nottingham City Transport




Nottingham City Transport (NCT) are increasing their fares from 26th March 2017. It will be the first time in three years for cash fare payers, and the first time for five to seven years for weekly, monthly and annual ticket holders for NCT services. This will be a mix of good and bad news for commuters in Nottingham.
