London Bus Tender Awards: More New Electric Buses For Routes 99, 141, 269 and 401

The London Bus Tender Awards have revealed routes 99, 141, 269 and 401 will be using new electric buses as part of the new contracts won by the private bus operating companies.

LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:

Route 65/N65

Route 99

Route 141
Retained by: Arriva London North

Vehicles: New electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 11th January 2025

Route 269
Current Operator: Arriva London North
New Operator: Go-Ahead London Central
PVR: 13
Vehicles: New electric double deck

Route 401

* Certain journeys on route N65 will continue to be operated by hybrid vehicles.

New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.

The diesel and hybrid vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.

This is good news, as we are seeing more zero-emission electric buses entering service in London.
