London Bus Tender Awards: New Electric Buses for Route 166

Another day of London Bus Tender Awards announcements by Transport for London (TfL) shows that Route 166 will be served using new single-deck electric buses.

LBSL intends to enter into new contracts for the following routes with the operators listed below:

New Operator: Arriva London South
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR): TBC
Vehicles: New electric single deck
Contract Start Date: 30th August 2025
Contract End Date: 27th August 2032

Route 202
Current Operator: Arriva London South
New Operator: Arriva London South
PVR: 16
Vehicles: Existing hybrid double deck
Contract Start Date: 20th September 2025
Contract End Date: 22nd September 2028

Route 319
Current Operator: Arriva London South
New Operator: Arriva London South
PVR: 19
Vehicles: Existing electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 13th September 2025
Contract End Date: 10th September 2032

Route H12
Current Operator: RATP London Sovereign
New Operator: London Sovereign
PVR: 14
Vehicles: Existing hybrid double deck
Contract Start Date: 30th August 2025
Contract End Date: 30th August 2030

Route K1
Current Operator: RATP London United
New Operator: London United
PVR: 14
Vehicles: Existing diesel single deck
Contract Start Date: 28th June 2025
Contract End Date: 30th June 2028

Route K3
Current Operator: London United

Vehicles: Existing diesel single deck

Contract End Date: 30th June 2028

New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.

The diesel and hybrid vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
