London Bus Tender Awards: New Electric Buses for Route 106

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that route 106 will transition to new double-deck electric buses operated by Go-Ahead London General.

LBSL intends to enter into a new contract for the following route with the operator listed below:

Route 105 (24h)
Retained by: RATP London United (Soon First London)
Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR): 16
Vehicles: Existing hybrid double deck
Contract Start Date: 28th June 2025
Contract End Date: 28th June 2030

Route 106
Retained by: Go-Ahead London General
PVR: 15
Vehicles: New electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 7th June 2025
Contract End Date: 4th June 2032

Route 144
Current Operator: Arriva London North
New Operator: London General
PVR: 15
Vehicles: Existing electric double deck
Contract Start Date: 11th October 2025
Contract End Date: 8th October 2032

Route 606
Retained by: Metroline
PVR: 2
Vehicles: Existing hybrid double deck
Contract Start Date: 30th August 2025
Contract End Date: 1st September 2028

New electric vehicles may enter service after the contract start date, dependent on infrastructure and/ or vehicle delivery timescales.

The hybrid vehicles detailed above will meet Euro VI emissions standards.
