Request ID: FOI-1011-2425
Date published: 15 July 2024
Question:
A prominent user on X (formerly Twitter) named 'CLondoner92' has posted a link to your FOI request about the oldest Oyster card still in use.

You mentioned it was last used in August 2023, which was last year. Would you be able to publish the top 10 oldest Oyster cards that are still in use, the date when they were first activated, and when they were recently used?
Answer:
I can confirm that we do hold the information you require:
The dates mentioned are in DD/MM/YY format.
Taking a look at my tweet from last year.
So it seems that the Oyster card first issued on 30th June 2003 is no longer in use, as the date of that particular card is not mentioned in the table above.#TfL Freedom of Information release:

Who remembers paying £3 for a new Oyster card and to pay the 80p bus fare? 🙂 https://t.co/RnHMYvI73c pic.twitter.com/y54FiiVdg3
