A review of the Freedom of Information section on the Transport for London website reveals an update regarding the refurbishment of the 1992 Tube Stock for the Central line. This work is being delivered as part of the Central Line Improvement Programme (CLIP), which includes the installation of new wheelchair bays, automated announcements, and refreshed seat moquette.

Following on from my previous article, TfL has revealed that the CLIP project is expected to be completed by 2029. Passengers can expect the Central line trains to sound similar to the sub-surface (Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan) and Victoria line fleets, as the refurbished trains are being fitted with new traction motors.

If you would like to hear the sounds of the new Central line trains, I have shared exclusive footage of the refurbished stock on X (formerly Twitter), Mastodon, and Bluesky. If you aren't already following me, please do head over to watch the video, and don't forget to like and repost!
