Happy New Year 2026 to all my readers! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating the start of the year, whether you were at the heart of the festivities or enjoying a quieter evening with friends and family.

As we step into January, it is worth reflecting on the vital role played by Transport for London (TfL) last night. Navigating the city after the midnight celebrations can often be a challenge, but thanks to the provision of overnight services, Londoners were given several reliable alternatives to the night bus network to ensure a smooth journey home.

TfL Publishes the Most Common Station-to-Station Journeys for the National Rail, Elizabeth Line, London Overground, Underground and DLR for 2025

This is a follow-up to my previous article about the most common journeys on the London Underground and other services in 2023.

I can reveal that Transport for London (TfL) has published the most common journeys for the London Underground (LU), National Rail (NR), Elizabeth Line (EL), and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) as of 2025.

Bear in mind, we are still in 2025, and the data for this year is only available up to and including 1st November.

With so many London Underground stations at the top, here are 100 journeys.

Yesterday (6th October 2024) I saw a post on X (formerly Twitter) where a wheelchair user was trying to board a train at Greenwich railway station but had to lift their chair up into the train, lost their glasses, and got hurt in the process. This is due to missed assistance at the station, despite booking passenger assistance with the train operating company.

Although I'm not a wheelchair user, I have volunteered to help in a small tweet thread instructing on what to do in the event of missed assistance (staff deploying a wheelchair ramp) at railway stations. I decided to share the instructions in my article because users who are not registered with X are unable to see other posts.

TfL Orders 10 More New Class 345 Trains For The Elizabeth Line With Alstom To Increase Capacity

Alstom has signed a £370 million contract with Transport for London (TfL) to supply 10 nine-car Aventra trains for the Elizabeth line, helping to continue jobs and the supply chain in manufacturing.

Crossrail Elizabeth Line FINALLY OPENS For Passenger Service!

After a very long wait, the Elizabeth Line finally opens for passenger service. Today (24 May 2022) has certainly been energetic, especially for people who took the very first train service to travel through the new tunnels which run from Paddington to Abbey Wood, via Canary Wharf.

London Bus Tender Awards: Route 307 to Receive New Double-deck Electric Buses and Elizabeth Line’s Main Central Core to Open on 24th May 2022

Route 307 which serves the north of Greater London from Barnet Hospital to Brimsdown Station will soon be operated with new double-deck electric buses as part of the new contract won by Arriva London.

First of all, I have to apologise for the lack of new articles on this site over the last few months - this is due to personal circumstances.

This year has been an interesting one in the transport scene as we saw the opening of the new London Bridge railway station in January ; The last ever New Routemaster bus (LT1000) appearing on Route 267 in February; The announcement for new double deck electric buses for London Bus routes 43 and 134 which is expected to launch in 2019; The Volvo B5LHC with Wright SRM bodywork appearing on route 37 in August; And in September, there was a launch for the new Glider Bus Rapid Transit service for Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Tottenham Court Road Crossrail Elizabeth Line near completion and London Bus tender awards update

Crossrail have announced the near completion of the new Tottenham Court Road station. We are still months away though until the main core of Crossrail opens up in December 2018.

Tottenham Court Road station will be at the centre of London’s first new underground railway in a generation, which will run from Berkshire and Heathrow in the west to south east London and Essex in the east.

TfL unveils the ‘maintenance train’ for the Crossrail Elizabeth Line

First of all, my apologies for the lack of articles recently which is due to the fact that I haven’t found many newsworthy articles to report on - I have however found one article from TfL reporting on the new maintenance train which will be used on the upcoming Crossrail Elizabeth Line.

TfL takes over the Heathrow Connect services

TfL has taken over the Heathrow Connect services as part of launching the new Crossrail Elizabeth Line over the coming months.

Old Oak Common depot is built for new Crossrail Elizabeth Line

In preparation for TfL Rail taking over the Heathrow Connect services, the new Old Oak Common depot is ready for the new services which will begin on 20^th May 2018.

One year to go until Crossrail Elizabeth Line starts!

With 2018 rapidly approaching, it’s not much longer until the Crossrail Elizabeth Line officially kicks in. We’ll still have to wait until December 2018 though for the ‘main core’ of the Crossrail Elizabeth Line to open up!

New station entrance for Bond Street Underground Station

On the 17^th November, the new entrance for Bond Street opened in preparation for the new Crossrail Elizabeth Line.
